MEXICO WOMEN DEFEAT CHINESE TAIPEI AS THEY PREPARE FOR CONCACAF TOURNAMENT     21st October 2010

CONCACAF

The Mexican Women's coach Cuellar  accepted an invitation to South Korea for The Peace Queen Cup. These matches are the Mexicans' final preparations before the October 28-November 8 CONCACAF championship in Cancun.

In the first game Australia defeated the Mexicans 3:1. The Mexican team gave up 2 goals in the first half and one in the second.

Today, at 5:00 p.m. Mexico took on Chinese Taipei as Australia had already qualified for the final. Mexico won the game by a single goal from Morales, but Taipei gave them a real challenge.

Both teams, with no hope of the finals, committed to playing an attacking game. Mexico was expected to dominate Chinese Taipei, but the Asian team performed very well and the Mexicans never overwhelmed them.

In the later stages of the game, Mexico started to dominate. They were technically superior to Chinese Taipei. In the 43rd minute, Morales used her height to score and the goal was the winner.

Both teams had several chances to score in the first half. Mexico won the game and now finishes its preparation for the World Cup qualifiers for North and Central America.
