CANADA WNT TRAINS IN DRESDEN   13th September 2010

Canada’s Women’s National Team was all together on Monday 13th September as they held the squad's first full training session in Dresden, Germany. The arrival of Christine Sinclair and Candace Chapman from FC Gold Pride of Women’s Professional Soccer completed the numbers.

The team practiced for two hours at the Dresden Dynamo practice field, across from Rudolf Harbig Stadium. Canada is preparing for the upcoming Women’s International Friendly match against two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion Germany. The match is set for 15th September with a 6:00 pm local kickoff (12.00 ET / 09.00 PT).

The Canadian squad will have one more day of training on Tuesday 14 September. Following the morning training session, coach Carolina Morace, captain Sinclair and veteran Diana Matheson will take part in a special Canada-Germany press conference (13.30 local time). Of note, Matheson has 99 career appearances and could reach 100 on Wednesday.

Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is getting ready for the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier, which runs 28 October to 8 November in Mexico. After the Canada-Germany match, Canada will return home to face China PR on 30 September at BMO Field in Toronto, ON.
