TEAM STROMMEN WINS WITH STORLOKKEN BULLS EYE 28 June 09

 Translation by Per Kristiansen

With Team Strommen' s recent poor run of luck and play, they were grateful to emerge as 2 -1 winners in Saturday's Toppserien match against Kattem. However, it was not until there were only 25 minutes left in the match that Lene Storlokken scored to give Team Strommen the lead.

Playing away in Trondheim, the team arrived soon before the match and had little time to prepare. However, they were able to take a 1-0 lead when Diana Matheson spun at the top of the 18 metre box and thumped the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the Kattem net.

The second goal came after a duel in midfield, won by right midfielder Ingrid Moe Wold, who dribbled the ball towards the goal line, looked up, and put in a great cross at 45 degrees. Rhian Wilkinson hurdled the ball and screened the goalkeeper for Lene Storlekken to slam the ball home in the bottom right corner of the net. Lene said, "It was good for us to have a win again. It was easy for me to score when the other girls did all the work in front and made it easy for me."

Lene went on to say that she didn't think the recent string of three losses has dampened the spirit of the team. "We are still confident, but I can't remember a time when we lost three games in a row."

Team Strommen coach Janne Jansson flet that the win was "well-deserved," even though Kattem had a shot that hit the crossbar just before the referee ended the game. The Swedish coach was pleased with the quality of the goals.

This Tuesday Team Strømmen plays a Toppserien away match against Stabæk. Only a win will keep Team Strommen in contention for a top three place this season.
