Players on the Women's National Team have been keeping a low profile as we use July and August as rest and recovery phases in our program.

However, CONCACAF qualification matches for the 2012 London Olympics are set for 19 - 29th January 2012, and we are starting to bestir ourselves. These matches will be played at Vancouver's new B.C. Place Stadium on field turf.

Less than a year away, the Olympic soccer competition starts July 25, 2012. Only twelve teams will qualify for the event and Canada must finish gold or silver to qualify. 

The CSA has already announced that we will face the old enemy, the United States, again, first on Saturday 17th September 2011 in Kansas City, then in Portland, Oregon on Thursday 22nd September 2011. 

We have started to gear up our training and returned to run camps and visits to local soccer teams and associations. I had the pleasure of being invited to visit one team in Vancouver and will visit another in Ottawa coached by my former mentor from the Fury.
