COCOONED IN CAT COUNTRY          13th June 2011
 

Happy Birthday to Canadian super star Christine Sinclair. She has been telling everyone that she has now turned 25, but this news is not something that I can accept. I am older than she is! But of course, Sincy made her debut at the tender age of 15 years. Even if she were the 25 years of age that she now maintains, that would give her over 10 years of national team experience. This would be amazing.

From camp there is not much to report. There is just the usual training, good sunny weather and I continue with my studies.  Journal writing can often become quite difficult as there is no news. We have become cocooned in the hotel and our camp.

Hang on though, there is a further cat story. Several of the feral cats around the hotel have had kittens lately: Excitement abounds among the CWNT squad..... kinda. Don't get me wrong. I like cats. I don't love them as a result of bad experiences with my mother's horrible cat Calvin. However, I have to admit that i do not want to go anywhere near these Italian felines. They are very cute, but flea infested animals.

Anyone on the team who has been within a 10 yard radius of these cats is not allowed in my room- even you SINCLAIR! I thought I saw a flea on Sincy a few days ago, but it turned  out to be a piece of fluff.

The reality though is that it COULD have been something else, and that

 is warning enough for me. Back to the cocoon.
