ROME: THE WINDY CITY               10th May 2011

Yesterday was a windy day here in Rome, and a gusty wind must be amongst the worst possible elements to play in. However, for the Canada squad, even though the wind made on-field communication slightly tougher than usual, we had quite a good session.

I thought at first that this Roman wind was going to be a bit like the game we played in Cyprus against the Netherlands. That was the windiest game I have ever played in. Thank goodness I was wrong, and we performed well.

We only had the one session today, and it was held in the afternoon, so i spent the morning at my books. I had good motivation to study as I had promised myself the reward of watching the Canucks' hockey game at 1:00 pm. I think Italian TV may actually play the games live, but seeing as that is in the middle of the night here, I wait for the reply during the next day. The match was a good one and Vancouver managed to win the series. Even though I am a Habs fan (obviously), I am also a Canadian hockey fan and it is about time the Stanley Cup cup came home- Go Canucks Go!

It is going to be a quiet evening now. Maybe I will cram in a bit more studying, deal with my wind burned face, and then it's off to bed - not one of my more exciting days.
