RHIAN SOCCER JOURNALS

PLAYING THE SOPRANOS              18th April 2011

Happy Birthday to Ciaran, and I am sorry that I am not there to celebrate the day with you Another missed birthday of an old friend. I will make make them up to you in our thirties!

It was a quiet day, in that we only had one training session. But, it was also an exciting day as it was our last practice before our break begins. Everyone is exhausted, both players and coaches, so the fact that a break is right around the corner has left us buzzing.

I started to pack for my trip early in the morning, then paid the price. I had then to keep unpacking things that I needed. I will just have to repack tomorrow.

I fly to London, UK tomorrow night and I am excited not only because I am going to see some of my family, but also because I have tickets for the Tottenham v. Arsenal game on the 20th April. This is going to be my first Premiership game and could there possibly be a better one than this North London derby.

Robyn, who is a HUGE Arsenal fan, is coming with me and, seeing as we are going to be sitting in the Tottenham section, she has been asked to not wear her jersey. I don't think I am going to be able to convince her to not cheer her team's goals, but no one can force me to admit to being friends with her once the game starts.

Tomorrow, as a last training practice  we are going to play an exhibition game against a boy/men's team here. I can't tell you whether they are men or boys as 17 year old males can go either way: Some of them at this age have fully beards, while and others still speak with squeaky sopranos. I think I would prefer to play against the sopranos.
