BEEP TEST AND STRENGTH TRAINING      15th April 2011

We had another double training session today. The coaching staff really wanted us to earn our day off tomorrow, and they worked us hard.

In contrast, yesterday we only had one session. However, any session that starts with the dreaded "beep test" is a horrible one. I think I have explained before that even though fitness testing really isn’t THAT bad, just the fact that it is fitness testing, makes it mentally intimidating and physically challenging . You worry about it the day before and during the night. You worry about it all morning, and then you finally get it done, and it seems so much worry for such a small thing.

Huge congratulations to Sophie who killed it in the test and led the team in fitness. Nobody was that surprised, as she has been doing very well in games and in training. The rest of that training session after the tests was not top quality. First, because we were euphoric to have finished our testing for another month; and secondly, because our legs were like jelly!

Today's morning session much lighter by comparison. It was held in the gym and I was in a group with Tank, Robyn, Booth, and Carm. According to Betty. we were the best! We were working on elastic strength, but the best part of the training was the aerobic workout at the end of it all.

Betty was meant to be the leader, but unfortunately, no one had mentioned this to Tank. We were soon gyrating and bopping, while poor Betty tried to get a handle on the situation … she failed to do so. Other than Betty, I think I was the most "inconvenienced." I am by far, the least coordinated dancer on the team, and trying to follow Tank and Robyn’s fancy footwork (and Carm’s … free styling), was an impossible task. I was a disgrace!
