TIE WITH KOLBOTN 1 -1 7th August 2010
I missed the first game back from the Norway Toppserien League's mid-summer break because I was home in Montreal, Canada, for my twin
sister's wedding. While I was away LSK lost the match again Kattem. I can't make any comment as I was an ocean away, and have not seen
anything of the game.

After the wedding, I flew back to Norway on Wednesday 4th August, so I had plenty of time to prepare for our game today against Kolbotn.
Both Kolbotn and LSK have had a slow poor start to the second half of the season.
We tied the game 1-1, which is not a horrible result against Kolbotn who are a good team, but we should have won the game. I have been writing
those words too often this season. I find it interesting that LSK , a team that has so much natural talent, has struggled to win matches this year. I
have played for teams with less talent, but with a winning attitude, a never say die aura about them, and they always find ways to win.
Of course, there are fighters on this LSK team, and of course every team wants to win. But, that indescribable attitude and backs-to-the-wall belief
seems to be missing from all of us on the LSK squad.
Sometimes I have been part of teams that know it is going to win even an hour, a day, or a week before the actual game takes place. They just know!
Such an attitude cannot be taught. I have no idea how, or why, it happens.
Having said all this, we at LSK dominated the first half and had good spells in the second, but at the end of the match, Kolbotn had all the pressure
on us and we were hanging on for dear life. We seem to still be working out how to play as a team, with bad spells of inaccurate passing. Kolbotn was
quick to secure any loose ball and they made some dangerous counter-attacks.
Kolbotn scored the tying goal in the 82nd minute - it is unforgivable to to allow a goal that late in an important match. We scored our own goal in the
65th minute. Diana made a great cross from the 16 yard box to the far post. I was able to lob the ball over the goalkeeper and into the far corner. After
this, we exerted some great pressure, but could not get the goals.
SHE - Diana - is back with a vengeance. Even though Diana played part of the Kattem game, I was not there. This match against Kolbotn was
the first game I have played with her in 5 months. It is wonderful to have her back on the pitch.
By the end of the game, we were all dead on our feet, except for Diana. She, the player who has been sitting out for 5 months, was still zipping all
over the place. It is embarrassing.
I did mention briefly that I returned home to Canada for my sister Sara's wedding a week ago today. It was a fantastic ceremony and celebration.
Everyone will say that their sister was the most gorgeous bride ever, but this time it was true. She was stunning!

Her newly wed husband Chris, didn't look half bad either. The wedding and whole weekend were special. The whole family was together, the weather
was perfect, the outdoors ceremony by a lake near Mont Tremblant was ideal. I had a great time. These visits remind me how I miss my family and how
much I wish I lived a little closer to them.
Next
tHURSDAY we play Kolbotn again, this time in the quarter finals of the Norwegian cup. We are saving our win against them for then.
