LSK WOMEN CLIP KLEPP 3 - 0 10th April 2010
We beat Klepp today by 3 goals to 0. This is another good win to start LSK Kvinner's 2010 season.
We went into half-time with only a 1-0 lead, so the game was close. We should have scored many more, as we
squandered some very good goal scoring opportunities. That being said, right before half, Klepp had a good opportunity
to tie the game up themselves when they hit the under side of our crossbar before the ball bounced out. Games often
hinge on things like that. To go into half time with a tied score is very different from going in 1-0 up. We were lucky to
get away with it. Ida Elise scored our first half goal when Mari played her through the left side of defence. Ida took a
touch and then blasted the ball past the keeper.

We came out from half time, ready to play and increasingly confident. We almost scored a couple of goals right away.
Then the game seemed to settle down and lulled, before Klepp had some great chances to score, but Ingrid, our keeper,
came up huge and made some fantastic saves. At the end of the game, she was chosen as the MVP and very deservedly
so. During a 5 minute spell she really kept us in the game.
However, then we scored our second goal from a penalty shot. This followed a period when we had some nice passes up
the field and put some real pressure on them. We hemmed them into their own 18 yard box. The ball bounced back to the top
of the box where Lene was running in. The Klepp defender made a great block, but unfortunately it was with her hands. Her
keeper would have been proud of the effort. Nasra stepped up to the spot, and calmly slotted the ball home to the left, as the
goalie dove to the right.
Our last goal came in the 65th minute, when our center defender made a brilliant marauding run up the field, and slipped
the ball through to me as I accelerated through the defence. At three nothing up, we were very much in control by the end of the
game, but Klepp never gave up. They ran at us right up until the final whistle. All credit to them.
These first two matches have been good for us. Two wins and no goals against. I think we have done some really good things,
but there is definitely plenty we need to be working on. Ingrid in net has been playing really well and we need to make sure that
we continue to work towards getting her clean-sheets every game.
