2009: A NEW DYNASTY IN VIEW 14th January 2010
2009 has been an interesting year for Canada's National Women's Team, and this has been especially true for Amy Walsh,
Martina Franko and Amber Allen. All three members of the National squad are expecting their first child.

As usual, I am late in writing this journal, but I have been fortunate that even though both Amy and Martina's due dates have passed,
I have beaten them to the actual delivery. Yeah me!
For most of Amy's pregnancy I have been overseas, but I was thrilled to get the chance to visit her just after the New Year. She, her sister
Bonnie, and I got together at her house for the day. Even though Amy was in her ninth month, she still insisted that we go for a ski. Not much
has changed here!
I thought that I was just being prudent when I decided that I had better research what to do if she decided to go into labor in the middle
of the woods, but my anxiety was a source of great mirth to her. I found the information comforting! My research began with the instruction to
"Stay Calm," but I have the feeling that this might have been a little hard. Thankfully nothing was tested.

She did have me worried at one point though. We had already skied once round the 4.5 km trail once, but Amy decided that she was not tired
enough and that we would just have to do it again. There is no way her doctor would have okayed this madness. However, Bonnie and I were no
match for her and we were soon enough back on the trail.
I look forward to meeting all three of the "its" in the near future. I have plans for these members of the coming Canadian soccer
dynasty. There is little chance all three being one sex, right?
